Sure going to the cinema is a great experience - and who can live without DVDs - but when you want to watch a film now, then TLAvod.co.uk is your 21st century entertainment ticket. TLAvod.co.uk allows you to watch movies INSTANTLY right on your home computer or, if you are a bit computer savvy, right on you television. Even if you are not all that computer literate, it is easy to set up an account, configure your computer (or for the advanced, your TV) and begin watching both mainstream and GLBT movies in seconds. That is, if you are in the UK or Ireland (sorry, rest of the world).
There are 2 ways to watch a film on our Video On-Demand (VOD) service.
- Streaming Rentals: When you place an order for one of our streaming rentals you can watch the film for generally up to three days after your purchase. Using our flash streaming technology - available to both Mac and PC users - you will get a crisp, clear picture. You can even pause, fast-forward or rewind a movie to watch it all over again once it has finished!
- Download to Own: With this, you actually download a digital copy of the film to your hard drive. You then own the movie - watch it as many times as you’d like whenever you want. But there are some "challenges" to this service. First, at present we can only offer it to our PC users - it is not yet functional for Mac users. Also, these films are usually large file sizes, (from 600MB to over 1GB). And, if we haven't scared you off yet, one needs to wait until the download is completed before viewing the film, that can take anywhere from 60 minutes to a few hours depending on your internet speed.
Getting Started.
Other than a computer and screen, all you really need is a high speed broadband connection (2MB or faster) and a credit card on file.
To place an order, select the film you wish to watch and click "Add to Cart" in the upper right corner of the page. You can select as many movies as you want before completing the purchase process.
- When you are ready to purchase your rental, click "Checkout" in your shopping cart and follow the easy instructions to complete your order.
- When your order has been placed, you will be prompted to start watching your movie. Click on the link to your film and you will be taken to our theater page where you can start streaming your film immediately.
- Each streaming rental is available for a set amount of time – currently streaming rentals are on average for 72 hours after your purchase (and downloads are yours to watch anytime).
