Synopsis

Can a man have too many meaningless one night stands? That’s the question Luke is forced to ask after waking up, yet again, under an innumerable number of hot naked men. Under pressure from his friends and finally starting to get sick of the constant revolving door that is his sex life, Luke finally decides to give monogamy a go when he meets Stephen- a guy who appears to have the whole package. Wittily co-written by star Jesse Archer (who also starred in Andreas' first film), A Four Letter Word is the perfect break from the all the serious films we sell!

Luke (Archer) is a "gay cliché": flitting from job to job with no thought of tomorrow, he cruises the bars looking for the perfect mate...for the night. On a typical morning, he wakes up in a tangle of bodies and heads to his job at a Chelsea shop specializing in sex toys and rainbow paraphernalia. At work he is endlessly lectured about gay civil rights by his co-worker Zeke (Cory Grant), a cutie with loftier goals than selling dildos. (Zeke is a "centered" man with goals: during his downtime he attends a yummy nude yoga class.) Luke's life of one-night stands finally looks like it might come to an end when he meets sultry beauty Stephen (Charlie David, star of "Dante's Cove"). Smitten with his new love, Luke is convinced by him to attend meetings for the sexually compulsive and take his life more seriously. But Luke's world falls apart when he discovers that Stephen has completely misrepresented himself. Does Luke re-enter the party boy world whose fabulous colors tend to fade by morning, or is it time for him to open his heart and mind to new possibilities?

If you saw “Slutty Summer”, you will undoubtedly remember some of the characters you met—if you did not choose to forget them. One particular character, Luke, was the “typical” gay party guy who was always quick to make sure he “sparkled”. You can then guess where this movie is going and I can assure you that it is very, very, very gay (and somewhat naughty).
From the first few minutes of the film we know where we are going. In the first scene we see a good looking couple kissing and embracing in the shower. We also see a gay men’s nude yoga group and so begins the frontal nudity.
The plot moves along as we go with Luke to his place of work, an adult bookstore. We see him conversing with Zeke, his co-worker, who is a post-gay activist. We then watch Luke in his attempts to get laid. He feels that he must validate his existence with constant sex. Luke finally meets his match when he meets Stephen who describes himself as a total top. (Interesting—the total tops I have met have turned out to be pig bottoms).
At first Stephen dismisses Luke but they later meet anonymously in the back room of a bar and Stephen goes crazy over the way Luke uses his “oral; skill”. Luke replies that it is a hobby of his.
Luke is so smitten with Stephen that he is wiling to try to be monogamous and even joins a group of sexually compulsives. It seems that Luke already knows everyone in the group. It also turns out that Stephen is nothing more than an expensive rent boy.
“A Four Letter Word” is a wonderful commentary on commitment ad how sexual identity can cause loneliness and an over extended adolescence. A very sharp script and a very talented cast make this a delightful movie so when it comes around, make sure you get to see it.

Maybe you think this is just some slutty gay sex film. Wrong answer! Unless you have lived or been exposed to this life-style, you cannot truly appreciate everything this film has to offer. I think, it is a comment of a certain, life style. Good, bad, indifferent, it protrays this way of life very dramatically. Does it have a meaning? The audience will have to decide, this one, on their own! I was totally entertained by its story line and highly recommend you take someone with you, that you love or care a lot about, when you view this movie. This film should be added to your classic collection. TRUE LOVE CAN BE A VERY HARD MISTRESS!! NJMJr.

This movie is really great. It was very well done. At first you might not like the main character but he grows on you throughout the film.
This movie was shown at the gay and lesbian film festival in Housotn Sept. 2007. It was very well received.
I highly recommend watching it.
It has a story, but also contains humor and best of all some raunchy sex.
